John Lees is an award-winning writer from Glasgow, Scotland. He is best known for his work on folk horror mystery AND THEN EMILY WAS GONE, with artist Iain Laurie, coming-of-age horror comedy THE NASTY, featuring artist Adam Cahoon, and hard-boiled Glasgow crime saga SINK, drawn by Alex Cormack. His other credits include HOTELL, THE CRIMSON CAGE, THE STANDARD, GRAWLGORE & SHANKS, MOUNTAINHEAD, and a story for TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES UNIVERSE. John’s latest project is ORLA!, a romcom/creature feature mash-up, working with artist Sally Cantirino.
Axe Marnie is an award winning Scottish comic artist based in Edinburgh. Their work looks at themes of queerness, disability and identity through a fantasy lens. In 2024 they published Run Ragged, a comic using werewolfism to write about the experience of chronic illness and they are currently working on a fantasy comic set in the historic fishing village of Newhaven. Their work is distributed in the US through Radiator comics.
