Your Visit

We can't wait to welcome you to The Little Theatre!

Whether you're visiting us for a show, looking to get involved with the theatre or the Nairn Drama Club, or looking to hire the venue you will receive a warm welcome.

The Little Theatre is owned and operated by Nairn Drama, and is staffed entirely by volunteers, as such there isn't a permanent presence in the theatre or 'box office' as you might expect in larger venues and we're not really able to accommodate 'drop-in' visits.

The Little Theatre endeavours to be an accessible space for all.

  • The entrance is accessible by wheelchair, and step-free access to the auditorium is available by arrangement.
  • There is an accessible WC located in the foyer on the ground floor.
  • There is a lift to all levels, including the backstage areas of the theatre for our volunteers and visiting companies.
  • We have an induction loop for those using hearing aids.
  • We offer Touch Tours for shows where possible.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome in the Theatre.

If you use a mobility aid such as a wheelchair or scooter, please see our additional information and get in touch with us in advance of the performance.

Auditorium Information

The auditorium has two side aisles and the entrance is located at the rear row on the right hand side. Additional leg room is available in Rows H and A.

The seating is partially raked, with rows A and B being floor level with the stage, rows C and D being elevated above these, and subsequent rows (E, F, G, and H) all each raised above the previous row.

There are seven steps to the rear of the auditorium, or access available via a lift to row H.

Wheelchair users, or those requiring mobility aids unable to use the stairs, can be escorted to row A via a backstage step-free route.

At the end of the performance, all audience members are free to leave via the main entrance, or (step-free) side exit to Grant Street.

Due to the nature of staffing at The Little Theatre, we ask that if you have any specific access requirements or questions to please contact us in advance.

Arrival

We aim to open the bar and foyer 30 minutes before performance, with the auditorium itself open 15 minutes before performance.

As a small venue, we have limited capacity but there are a few seats in the foyer and we encourage these to be prioritised for those with mobility issues.

Where possible, we will endeavour to seat those who need a little more time first, but we are unable to admit audience members early.

Health and Wellbeing

Whilst COVID-19 is no longer on the front page, and we are able to enjoy some normality in our lives, COVID-19 and other viruses are still a threat and the Theatre is committed to reducing the risk to our team and visitors.

Please do not attend the theatre if you are displaying any symptoms of illness. Please contact the Theatre if you are unable to attend a booked performance due to health reasons.

We accept both cash and card payments for ticket sales and at the bar, and encourage use of contactless card payments where possible.
