The Not So Little Theatre...

Introducing National Theatre Live

Nairn Drama and The Little Theatre is proud to present screenings of theatre performances from The National Theatre here in our little auditorium as part of NT Live.

We (Nairn Drama) were established to foster and promote dramatic art and the appreciation of dramatic art in all its forms, and to promote and conduct theatrical, film and musical performances of the work of creative artists far and wide to the people of Nairn and beyond.

Therefore, in furtherance of this objective, we're delighted to bring some of the very best theatre in the UK from the stages of the Olivier, Lyttleton, and Dorfman right here to Nairn.

What is National Theatre Live?

National Theatre Live is the National Theatre’s groundbreaking project to broadcast the best of British theatre live from the London stage to cinemas across the UK and around the world.

National Theatre Live launched in June 2009 with a broadcast of the National Theatre production of Phèdre with Helen Mirren. They've since broadcast many other productions live from the National Theatre, and on occasion other theatres in the UK and around the world.

The Little Theatre is delighted to be part of this network.

About our Screenings

NT Live shows are shown as high definition projections 'on stage' at The Little Theatre on our 5m screen. The National Theatre are passionate about preserving the live, communal experience and the sense of event through big screen exhibitions.

NT Live shows are not 'movies' and are not produced as such, they are high quality recordings of the original live stage performance. Most include a 20 minute interval.
