Touring Companies

We can't wait to welcome you and your performance to The Little Theatre!

This page has been put together to give you (hopefully) all the information you need ahead of your visit, if you need more detail or have particularly complicated tech requriements see our full tech spec or please do ask us!

The Little Theatre is owned and operated by Nairn Drama, and is staffed entirely by volunteers, as such there isn't a permanent presence in the theatre as you might expect in larger venues. Members of our team will be on site at the theatre typically around 30 minutes before your agreed get in time.

Getting Here and your Get-In

The Little Theatre, King Street, Nairn, IV12 4NP

Most sat nav systems will find us at IV12 4NP

Loading is via the stage doors on Grant Street. This is a public road and a residential area so we must insist you stop vehicles here only long enough to unload, then move them to nearby parking.

Vehicles should be stopped such that the theatre is on your right with the vehicle parked facing King Street to avoid impeding access to neighbouring properties.

Members of The Little Theatre team will assist you with your get-in and get-out. There is a small step up from the road, and level access from this door to the stage.

There is no dedicated parking at The Little Theatre. Ample parking is available at the nearby Links Car Park a short distance from the Theatre.

This is not to be confused with the Links Studio Car Park behind the theatre, which is a private car park and not to be used by visiting companies.

Technical

We do our best to keep these up to date but some details, especially the Lighting Plan, can change depending on resident productions, please eMail the technical team in advance to ensure that we can accommodate your requirements.

Atmospherics and Pyro

We have a smoke machine and a hazer, visiting companies are welcome to use either in their production although a small charge may be levied for fluids. You are welcome to bring your own non-pyrotechnic and water-based atmospheric effects.

Oil-based effects (crackers) and CO2 based effects (such as low foggers, or dry ice) require additional risk assessment and are not normally considered suitable for use in The Little Theatre. Please contact us in advance if you wish to use these effects.

The use of pyrotechnic effects of any kind is strictly by prior arrangement with the Resident Stage Manager and Theatre Manager and will not normally be granted except to those who can provide evidence of training. In any event, the selection of devices must involve those named above.

The Little Theatre Management reserves the right to amend or refuse the use of any effect.
